Each Wave Breaker Racing Lane consists of a series of 150mm plastic disks and plastic donuts strung on a tinted vinyl coated 3/16 inch stainless steel cable. Each disk rotates independently of the others allowing the swimmer's wave energy to be absorbed and dispersed along the channel provided within the lane. This feature allows for consistent wave quelling from one lane to another.
The Wave Breaker design offers greater surface area and design features to absorb and disperse wave energy during training and competition. The 150mm diameter can be used at all levels of competition.
Wave Breaker Racing Lanes are attached to the pool wall using a stainless steel tension spring at one end and a stainless steel framed ratchet reel mechanism at the other end allowing for customized tension. The mechanism is covered using a black PVC dipped hood.

The selection of a disk size depends on your organization's compliance needs, budget, and the desired wave-quelling effectiveness of your lanes. Generally speaking, the larger diameter the disk, the calmer your water will be. This is why 6" lanes are generally found at the Olympics and other high-level events. For a break-down of compliance information, please refer to the following table.
