Often called dichlor, these white, fast-dissolving stabilized chlorinating granules are popular for spas and aboveground pools that need a quick dose of chlorine prior to use. Stabilized chlorine refers to slow-feeding chlorine tablets or fast dissolving dichlor granules. It is possible to use dichlor as a super-chlorinating treatment but repeated use could significantly increase the level of stabilizer in the pool water. As a result, other types of shock treatments are preferred.
