Their high-rate vertical commercial sand filters have been a staple in the swimming pool and aquarium industry for the past 35 years on the worldwide market. Astral’s non-corrosive fiberglass filament wound technology has supplied the 1992 and 1996 Olympic pools with sparkling clean water for many years.

Facilities are amazed with the water quality produced by Astral vertical filters. The 36 inch sand bed produces superior water quality over horizontal filters with shallower sand beds. These filters have a standard working pressure of 50 psi and a test pressure of 75 psi.

All of the Astral Vertical Filters include a dual pressure gauge panel, winterization drain valve and an automatic air release valve. They also include an improved 1.5 inch 360˚ lateral design. Internal plumbing is constructed of 235 psi rated PVC piping. Sand removal is made easy with a large media drain and a faster start-up can be achieved with Astral’s 16 inch manhole cover.

Manifold kits for Astral Vertical Filters are available in both 4 and 5-valve configurations. All manifolds are constructed from Schedule 80 PVC pipe and include Astral Butterfly Valves, EPDM seals, zinc-plated hardware, and all PVC fittings necessary for installations.

Filters are backed with a 15-year limited warranty on the tank shell, 3-year warranty for internal PVC components, and a lifetime warranty on laterals.
