Description
ChemLink M-1 Marine Adhesive and Sealant is available in a 10.1-ounce cartridge of either black or gray. M-1 Marine is a moisture-cure marine-grade adhesive and sealant specifically developed for marine use. It is ideal for above-the-waterline and post-cure below-the-waterline applications. Formulated without solvents, M-1 Marine will not shrink during curing, discolor from UV exposure, or form bubbles on damp surfaces. This marine sealant adheres to many surfaces, typically without priming, including fiberglass, fiber-reinforced plastic, vinyl, deck fittings, glass, and metal. It forms a strong bond, yet remains resilient and flexible after cure.
M-1 Marine will not discolor when exposed to UV light. This fast-setting sealant has a 20-minute skin-over time and is paintable after 24 hours. It can be applied in temperatures as low as 32 degrees F. It emits very low odor and contains less than 15 grams per liter of VOCs. M-1 Marine sealant is manufactured as a gun-grade material.
When working with the sealant, bonding surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from any contamination that may inhibit performance. Isopropyl alcohol is an effective cleaner for surface preparation. Maintain sealant at room temperature before application to ensure adequate tooling and adhesion.
