Description
This is a Chemtrol Total Chlorine PPM Sensor, no wire, with 0-002 ppm readings. The Total Chlorine menu is used to calibrate the Total Chlorine sensor. The new Chemtrol PPM solid state sensors feature superior precision and control of chlorine levels, with industry leading reliability and low maintenance requirements. These probes are so precise and reliable that they are covered by a 2-year warranty. The PPM sensors can be used alone or in combination with an ORP sensor to give the operator complete control of water quality. For better water management results, it is recommended that you use ORP control of chlorine oxidizing activity and PPM monitoring of total chlorine. Alternatively, PPM control can be used for control of the sanitizer and ORP control for a non-chlorine oxidizer.
The sensors are designed to be installed in a specially created flow cell for controlled flow of water. The recommended flow rate is about 15 gallons per hour. They are shipped in a molded foam package containing: One chlorine sensor, one compression fitting with o-ring and compression disk, one electrolyte cap with membranes, one electrolyte bottle and screw on filling tip, and one screw driver (not needed if pre-wired). Be careful not to touch the membrane or the electrodes. Before installing sensor cap, fill with the electrolyte solution. The solution is emptied during storage.
Product Features
- Standard range: 0 to 2 ppm
- PVC body with 1 inch MPT fitting
- Replaceable membrane and electrolyte
- Includes sensor, membrane and gel
- Cyanuric Acid compatible
Keeping Your Sensors Clean
Your sensors should be cleaned regularly, depending on bather load and characteristics specific to your facility. It's a relatively easy process. First, turn off your controller and all feeders. Close flow cell valves. Remove the sensors from the flow cell by unscrewing by hand and disconnect connectors. Carefully place your sensors into a clean container with water to ensure the tip remains wet.
Next, using a soft toothbrush, gently scrub the white ring and the tips of the sensor (at bottom) with regular toothpaste. Any oil or calcium buildup should be scrubbed with a mild degreasing detergent. Once cleaned, you can rinse the probes with the clean water in your container. Replace Teflon tape (with new tape) and reinstall the sensors by hand tightening only After reconnecting to be controller, you will need to manually test and balance your water.
