Illinois Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
Regulations for the State of Illinois for commercial swimming pools dictates the required safety equipment, pool rules signs, safety signs as well as various other traditional construction and safety regulations related to swimming pools.

Notes: | Section 820.360 of the Illinois Admin Code lists express rules and instructions for pool patrons which we have outlined in the Illinois Pool Rules. These rules are required to be posted at the entrance to the facility and adjacent to the swimming facility. At facilities where lifeguards are not provided, the Illinois No Lifeguard sign shall be posted. |

- Rescue Pole 12' Required
- Ring Buoys 18" Life Ring Buoy Required. 1 buoy per 2000 sq ft. of water footage.
- Throw Line 50' of throw line required.
- Depth Markers Placed at shallow and deep ends of pool, the transition point, and point of maximum depth. Spaced no more than 25 ft apart. Feet or feet and inches or feet and fractions of foot. Skid resistant. No diving depth marker where appropriate.
