Specialty Test Kits
Our Specialty Kits typically focus on measuring one type of chemical and are useful when you only need to test one special factor like hydrogen peroxide or phosphates.
Our specialty color-matching test kits and drop-count titrations give straightforward answers. They are available with 3/4 or 2 ounce reagents.
Ideal pH Levels
Aim for a pH level of between 7 and 7.8 ppm with the ideal level being 7.4 to 7.6. pH affects the germ-killing power of chlorine.
DescriptionThis is a Taylor Midget Comparator pH (Long Range) 3.0-10.0 Test Kit. The K-1285-1 Kit tests for pH using a long range comparator system and special reagents.
Testing your swimming pool pH is one of the most important water chemical tests for water balance. When testing pH, what you are really measuring is how acidic or how alkaline the pool water is. If the water pH is too far one way or the other, you risk ending up with unbalanced swimming pool water.
A pool's pH levels should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.6. To lower the pH, the most common dry product is Sodium Bisulfate. To raise the pH, Sodium Carbonate is normally used.
