Pool & Spa Chemical Adjustment Calculators

Recommended Chemical Adjustment Order

  1. Test Water (TA, pH, CH, CYA, and chlorine)
  2. Total Alkalinity (TA) (ideal: 80–120 ppm)
  3. pH (ideal: 7.4–7.6)
  4. Stabilizer (CYA) (only if needed; outdoor pools)
  5. Sanitizer (Free/Total Chlorine)
  6. Calcium Hardness (CH) (ideal: 200–400 ppm)
  7. Shock (if needed; best when sun is down)
  8. Algaecide (optional) (after chlorine drops back into normal range)

Always add one chemical at a time and allow circulation/filtration time between additions before retesting.
