Recommended Chemical Adjustment Order
- Test Water (TA, pH, CH, CYA, and chlorine)
- Total Alkalinity (TA) (ideal: 80–120 ppm)
- pH (ideal: 7.4–7.6)
- Stabilizer (CYA) (only if needed; outdoor pools)
- Sanitizer (Free/Total Chlorine)
- Calcium Hardness (CH) (ideal: 200–400 ppm)
- Shock (if needed; best when sun is down)
- Algaecide (optional) (after chlorine drops back into normal range)
Always add one chemical at a time and allow circulation/filtration time between additions before retesting.
