Michigan Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
Regulations for the State of Michigan for commercial swimming pools dictates the required safety equipment, pool rules signs, safety signs as well as various other traditional construction and safety regulations related to swimming pools.

Notes: | Our Michigan Pool Rules sign has been developed utilizing the swimming pool use rules outlined in Michigan EQP2263 (Rev. 1/2022). Facilities not required to have a lifeguard can use the No Lifeguard on Duty sign listed as it exceeds the requirements called for in the Michigan code. |

Safety Equipment Notes
- Rescue Pole 12' Required
- Ring Buoy 18" Life Ring Buoy Required
- Throw Line 1.5x maximum pool width or 50 feet, whichever is less of throw line required.
- Depth Markers At each side and each end, at maximum and minimum depths, at change in floor slope between shallow and deeper areas, and at intermediate points not more than 25 ft. At each means of egress at a RIVER RIDE pool. NUMERALS INDICATING UNITS OF MEASURE. NO DIVING between depth markers in less than 5 ft. SYMBOLS can be used.
- Rope & Float Line Lifeline at change in slope where water is less than 5 ft.
- Gloves If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Whistle If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Megaphone If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- CPR Mask If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Spineboard If pool staffed by lifeguard. 3 ties, runners, and a head immobilizer required.
- Rescue Tube If pool staffed by lifeguard.
