Minnesota Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
Regulations for the State of Minnesota for commercial swimming pools dictates the required safety equipment, pool rules signs, safety signs as well as various other traditional construction and safety regulations related to swimming pools.

Notes: | Minnesota’s Pool Rules were developed using the Sanitation and Safety guidelines listed in Minnesota 4717.1650. Public pools open to use must post the Minnesota No Lifeguard Warning sign when the lifeguard is not on duty. |

Safety Equipment Notes
- Rescue Pole 12' Required
- Ring Buoy 18" Life Ring Buoy Required
- Throw Line 1.5x maximum pool width, not to exceed 60' throw line required. 3/16 inch in diameter.
- Depth Markers In Feet and inches. On edge of deck, at maximum and minimum depths, on all sides, at points of change of slope betwn deep and shallow, and at intermediate increments of depth, spaced at not more than 25 ft. intervals. NO DIVING on all sides of pool where diving is not permitted. UNIVERSAL SYMBOL required with wording as above. Does not apply to wade pools, flume, or spas. NON SLIP DECK.
- CPR Mask If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Spineboard If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Rescue Tube If pool staffed by lifeguard.
