Description
S.R. Smith's Mid-Range Velocity Side Mount starting platform with Track Start and TrueTread has a setback range of 27 to 32 inches. The Mid-Range Velocity is designed for competitive pools with narrow bulkheads or a limited deck space. This model Velocity platform features a Track Start wedge designed to help swimmers generate maximum take-off power. This feature supports a powerful, track‑style stance, allowing swimmers to optimize their body position and reaction off the platform. It has 5 positions and will tuck under the footboard, out of the way.
The Velocity platforms feature a fiberglass footboard that has outstanding strength and a sleek design. The frames are constructed of commercial-grade stainless steel and then powder-coated for extra durability. In addition, the TrueTread surface provides excellent traction for swimmers, even in wet conditions.
The Velocity platforms use the Rock Solid Single-Post Anchor, sold separately (#27-107). The Rock Solid anchor system eliminates platform movement, allowing swimmers to achieve more consistent starts and, in turn, lower their competitive times.
The Velocity single-post is compatible with both Colorado and Daktronics timing systems. The platforms meet FINA, NCAA, NFSH, and USMS competition rules and guidelines. They are great for championship venues, training centers, and collegiate programs looking to upgrade their current platforms, preparing for future competitions.
