The Velocity VR Starting Platform with TrueTread is a purpose-built retrofit designed to upgrade existing S.R. Smith Varsity starting blocks, which have been a staple in aquatic facilities for decades. This game-changing platform allows pool operators to modernize their starting blocks without a complete replacement, providing a cost-effective solution that enhances both safety and performance.
This Velocity VR platform features the advanced TrueTread surface, which offers exceptional slip resistance and comfort for swimmers at every level. The textured, cushioned surface ensures secure footing, even when wet, reducing the risk of slips and falls during starts. Its durable construction is engineered for exposure to pool chemicals, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments.
The frames on the Velocity VR are made from commercial-grade stainless steel that is powder-coated for extra protection. The fiberglass footboard has outstanding strength and a sleek, hi-tech appearance, and measures 28 x 32 inches. Installation is straightforward and requires no drilling.
This platform is compatible with both Colorado and Daktronics timing systems. The platforms meet FINA, NCAA, NFSH, and USMS competition rules and guidelines. Great for championship venues, training centers, and collegiate programs looking to upgrade their Varsity platforms, preparing for future competitions.
