Regulations for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for commercial swimming pools dictates the required safety equipment, pool rules signs, safety signs as well as various other traditional construction and safety regulations related to swimming pools.

Notes: | The Massachusetts Pool and Spa Rules signs incorporate regulations outlined in the Massachusetts 105 CMR 435.00. Facilities that are not required to have lifeguards by the Board of Health must post the No Lifeguard sign required in a conspicuous place. |

Safety Equipment Notes
- Ring Buoys 18" Life Ring Buoy Required. One for each 2000 sq. ft.
- Throw Line 1.5x maximum pool width of throw line required.
- Depth Markers On the wall and deck. Placed at edge of pool. Spaced at 1 ft. intervals in shallow portion of pool to 5 ft. and then at appropriate places of not more than 25 ft intervals around deep portion of pool. Slip Resistent.
- Rope & Float Line Float and Rope when non-swimmers use pool to separate non-swimmer area. Splash down pools need to rope off areas between slide and swimming areas.
- Gloves If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Whistle If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Megaphone If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Spineboard If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- Rescue Tube If pool staffed by lifeguard.
- First Aid Kit If pool staffed by lifeguard.
