Utah Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
Regulations for the State of Utah for commercial swimming pools dictates the required safety equipment, pool rules signs, safety signs as well as various other traditional construction and safety regulations related to swimming pools.

Safety Equipment Notes
- Rescue Pole 12' Required
- Ring Buoys 18” Life Ring Buoy Required (Lifesaving equipment is one per 2000 square feet.)
- Throw Line 1.5x maximum width of pool plus 10 feet.
- Depth Markers Plainly marked at maximum and minimum pool depth, at points of separation btwn swimming and non-swimming areas. Also at intermediate 1 ft. increments, spaced at distances NTE 25 ft. NO DIVING on deck, no more than 16” from edge.
- Rope & Float Line Pools with both swimming and non-swimming must have. Placed directly above change in depth slope. Floats spaced at intervals of 7 ft. or less. Rope at least 1/2” in diameter.
- Spineboard For pools with lifeguard
- Lifeguard Chairs Elevated lifeguard chairs (one per 2000 square feet).
- Rescue Tube For pools with lifeguard
- Gloves For pools with lifeguard
- First Aid Kit For pools with lifeguard
